I saw this bricked up abandoned factory window with a vaiety of broken and missing panes when I was driving down West Jefferson Avenue in Detroit Michigan. It's a industrial area not far from the Ambassador Bridge that goes over the Detroit River, connecting the U.S. to Canada.
I like all that's going on, with the variation of retangles, some with glass, some broken and some missing. Against the bricks behind it I like the contrast it make and that's what make me stop and photograph it. There's always a lot to photograph in Detroit.

It’s always intriguing, seeing a building that is abandoned — there are so many questions to ask, and so frequently we never get the answers. At one point, this was a busy, bustling places, and many lives intertwined here.
Sandra Church replied:
Thanks Steve, mostly what I like are the variations of shapes and colors I see with an artist eye.

Sandra, I like your urban decay images very, very much. That used to be a big part of my photography when I lived in SoCal, but since moving to very rural Hawai'i- we do not have much of that! This is a wondeful image. Your composition is perfect in this one and in others I browsed through. I will start following your work. L/F
